Version #2. I love this room. I'm still not sure I've captured the 'glow' of it - I mean it glows!

Empty Nest

This is a little different. It's a cd cover I painted for my youngest son who is leaving this week to find his dreams in California. We're so excited for him, though we'll really miss him.

We put together a bunch of songs he'll like about Ohio and California for his trip out. The painting looks like a chocolate cake, doesn't it?

Here's one that's going in my show, and actually I've decided to use it on the flyer to announce my show - all things I'm working furiously away at this week. I'm so aware of that down time after a show or after getting ready for one, and I really don't want to go there. I've got so much energy and lots of ideas to paint right now and I don't want to lose it! So, I'm going to paint right now.

By the time I finish this series, everyone will know what the inside of my house looks like. This is the subject matter that excited me 30 years ago, and suddenly I'm feeling it again.

Plus, I can't seem to stop painting, and what I really need to be doing is getting 20 paintings ready to hang in a show NEXT WEEK!

Trying out a new size. I really like it.

It's always a good day when I come down to see my living room bathed in morning sunlight.
